PICTON Investments was founded in 2004 by David Picton with a clear conviction that better portfolio construction leads to better outcomes. At a time when most investors relied on traditional 60/40 portfolios, he observed leading pension plans evolving by expanding beyond stocks and bonds, managing risk more deliberately, and applying more thoughtful construction techniques.

David believed these institutional principles should be more widely accessible and applied with the same discipline beyond the largest pools of capital.
